Commonly known as Devil's Trumpet, Datura is an ornamental, shrub-like (or short-lived perennial) to 2 m. This cultivar features perfumed double or more yellow/pale lemon flowers. Datura will produce spiny/bumpy fruit capsules (refer image) from which you can harvest your own seeds if desired.
Datura requires full sun coupled with moist, rich, well-drained soil. Datura can tolerate poor soil conditions and survive even a little drought. In partial shade, it may become leggy and not produce many flowers. They resist the majority of pests. The plant is generally an annual but self seeds vigorously and seedlings grow at a furious rate to adult plants in one season.
Like many common garden plants, Datura can be harmful if ingested.
