Perennial, most commonly grown as an annual. Spreading habit. Dark green foliage. Named after its scented flowers which vaguely resemble a dragons face. Snapdragon blooms are completely edible.

Snapdragon flowers have been employed in poultices on tumours and ulcers. It is effective in the treatment of all kinds of inflammation and is also used on haemorrhoids.
