Basil - Blue Spice is a annual culinary herb to 40cm, that produces dense spikes of dark purple bracts with light purple flowers, amongst bright green foliage with serrated edles and a slightly fuzzy, soft feel. As the plant matures the stems darken to maroon and the purple blushed leaves turn solid green. This variety has a unique flavour profile, featuring notes of spice, vanilla, lemon and the classic licorice flavour of sweet basil varieties.
 
Useful in both sweet and savoury dishes, as well as for ornamental purposes due to its attractive light purple flowers and deep purple bracts.
