An American heirloom climbing bean variety, suited to both dry and humid climates. Produces distinctive deep-green beans, with purple snake-like mottling on the skin.
Vigorous growth, best trained up a trellis or along a fence.
One of the most hardy and versatile beans for gardeners, in all areas, growing equally well in drier soils, as it does in humid areas. Aside from the coloured pods, the beans themselves are unusual too as they are pure white while young, developing a beige appearance with burgundy marks as they mature. An excellent dried bean for all areas.
