Tomato - Dr. Wyche’s Yellow is an American heirloom, indeterminate beefsteak variety, named after Dr John Wyche. The plant produces large, heavy, slightly flattened, golden yellow fruit with a juicy, meaty interior, along tall plants with sparse foliage. It's rich, sweet flavour and larger size sets this variety apart from other yellow heirlooms. This variety has relatively few seeds.
Yellow tomato varieties like Dr. Wyche’s Yellow have valuable amounts of beta-carotene, the pigment that gives orange and yellow tomatoes their colour and helps neutralise free radicals that may damage human cells. Tomatoes also offer a good dose of vitamin B and potassium, which is important for regulating blood pressure, nerve function, and muscle control, and they are well known for their exceptional antioxidant content.
